Embedded Access focuses on providing embedded software platforms for NXP Kinetis, i.MX, Power Architecture, and ColdFire processors. These platforms are developed for applications in industrial control, medical, consumer and networking products. Embedded Access platforms combine real-time operating systems, device drivers, IP networking protocols, file systems, graphic libraries, USB and industrial protocols into an integrated software environment that allows our customers to focus on developing their application and differentiating from competitors.
As a complete solutions provider, Embedded Access offers not only engineering services to speed device development, but also training, technical support, and software product licensing.
Founded in 2004, Embedded Access is located in Ottawa, Canada.
History:
Embedded Access was founded in 2004 by Craig Honegger and Doug Bruce. Since inception we’ve been assisting customers world wide in a great variety of industries.
Founders:
Craig Honegger – President
Craig Honegger has vast experience in developing and managing the development of commercial real-time software products. Prior to co-founding Embedded Access, Craig worked for ARC International holding the positions of VP of Corporate Development, and General Manager and VP of Software. Craig’s duties included the management of the commercial embedded software products and tools group. Prior to ARC International, Craig was co-founder and Vice President of Precise Software Technologies Inc. for twelve years, with responsibility for Engineering and Operations. At Precise, Craig led the development of a number of embedded software products including the MQX Real-Time Operating System, TCP/IP Stack , USB Host Stack, 1394 Firewire Stack, and IPSec Security Package. In 2000, Precise was acquired by ARC International.
Prior to Precise, Craig was a Product Manager for DY4 Systems Inc, a manufacturer of Ruggedized Computer Boards. He has a degree in Computer Science from Carleton University.
Doug Bruce – Vice President
Doug has a extensive background in Sales, Business Development, and Software Development. Prior to co-founding Embedded Access, Doug worked for ARC International holding the positions of Director, Software Sales, and Director, Business Development. These positions included the world wide management of the sales and partnerships for ARC’s embedded software products and embedded software development tools. Prior to ARC International, Doug held the position of Major Accounts Manager at Precise Software Technologies Inc.
Prior to working at Precise, Doug worked at Alcatel Canada for 12 years holding a number of positions in Sales, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering and Hardware Engineering. He has an MBA from Edinburgh School of Business, UK and an Electrical Engineering Degree from Queen’s University.
Engineering Team:
Our Engineering Team is comprised of developers having both a very deep understanding of the MQX products as well as extensive hands on experience with development of embedded products. Not only do we utilize this wealth of experience to continuously advance our embedded software products, but we access this experience to provide detailed and timely technical support to licensees and for development of custom solutions for those looking to accelerate their project.
